This year marks a milestone we’re incredibly proud to celebrate — Capital Waste Services turns 10!
What began in 2015 as a small, local company in Columbia, South Carolina, with just a few trucks and a big dream, has grown into one of the Southeast’s most trusted waste and recycling providers. Today, we proudly employ more than 600 team members across South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Virginia, all dedicated to one mission: keeping our communities clean, safe, and thriving.
💪 From Humble Beginnings to Regional Impact
When Capital Waste Services was founded, our vision was simple, to deliver reliable, respectful, and community-minded waste services that customers could count on.
Over the past decade, we’ve expanded that vision into action.
- We’ve grown from a small, local operation to a regional leader in residential, commercial, and industrial waste collection.
- We’ve added modern automated trucks, state-of-the-art technology, and efficient route systems to better serve our customers.
- And we’ve continued to reinvest in the communities that helped us grow because service goes far beyond the curb.

Giving back has always been at the heart of what we do. Over the years, Capital Waste Services has been proud to support organizations that make a difference, including the Ronald McDonald House of Columbia, Camp Cole, and numerous local schools and events.
We’ve hosted safety demonstrations for children, sponsored community clean-up days, and provided free services for charitable programs.
Because at CWS, we believe that when a company grows, the community should grow right along with it.
